11/12/12's hybrid assignment

-->
So far, the initial results of my survey show that approximately fifty percent of college age students’ have no clue what factory farming is. A great number of the people who doesn't know what factory farming is have never lived nor worked on a traditional farm. However, there are some who have lived on a farm all their life and had no idea there was a harsh farming method of this sort. I personally find that to be weird. Also, everyone that has taken the survey thus far are not aware of how the food is raised for the restaurants they eat at. At this point I plan to continue collecting data via my survey to discover people views on factory farming and use a sociological theory called critical theory to uncover assumptions in regard to factory farming and change society as a whole.

  1. I really like the topic you are using. I think it is great to see how much people actually know about factory farming and help those who know nothing learn more. I am using the critical theory as well and I think it ties in well to your topic.

  2. I see that you’re using the critical theory in regards to your survey and paper. I think that you are doing great so far because you have gotten some data and you have already started analyzing it. I love your topic because many people are unaware of where their food comes from and how it is raised. People need to be smarter consumers and know where their food comes from, which you are finding out with your survey.

  3. You seem to be very on top of everything, and your survey was really well made. Your choice of using critical theory is a very good decision, and I think that it plays into your topic very well. I also really like your topic choice, it is very original.
